Assisting Anguilla

15 September 2017 (by Russ Payne (rpayne))

We held a cake sale today to help the community in Anguilla, a British territory, rebuild their primary school in the challenging weeks ahead.

As you will have seen in the national news this week, many islands in the Caribbean have been affected by hurricane Irma. As a school, we wanted to do something to help, especially because one of our St Mary’s families has been personally affected. Miss Richardson, a Year 4 Teacher, has family who live on Anguilla, a British territory that has been totally devastated by the hurricane. Miss Richardson has set up a fundraising page which is raising money to help the island recover after the devastation. We have added to this effort by holding a cake sale today with all proceeds going to this cause. We are hoping that we can help the local children rebuild their primary school in the challenging weeks ahead.
