Remembrance Art11 November 2016 (by Jodie HILL (jhill)) |
During collective worship this week we have been thinking about what poppies represent to us.
We thought about how poppies are worn as a sign of respect and remembrance for those who have died in conflict. Then each Keystage created a different representation of a poppy which have been collected and used to create a whole school piece of Art which will be displayed in the hall. Some of the children's poppies were also used to create a St Mary's wreath which Mrs Lawrence will be taking to the cenotaph on Sunday. The maturity and thoughtfulness of the children when creating their art work was a real credit to the school and their parents.
