Welcome to Term 5

This term we will be looking at what art can tell us about the people and life of the Tudors. From Henry VIII's quest to find a wife and Elizabeth I's desire to be seen as a powerful force in Europe, we will be experimenting with our own portraiture skills and immersing ourselves in the cultural life of the Tudors.

Key dates

 PE - Monday and Tuesday

Friday 15th June - Sports Day

Reading

Children should be reading at home every night but should be reading to an adult at home a minimum of 3 times per week. Year 4 children are still developing their vocabulary and comprehension skills which aid them in all areas of the curriculum.   Please fill in your child’s reading journal each time they read at home; either to an adult or independently, as children receive a certificate at the end of each term if they have completed 5 pages in their home reading record. The reading must be recorded for it to count!

PE

P.E. Kit: Children are timetabled for two P.E sessions each week.  Our P.E days this term will be Tuesday and Wednesday.  Suitable kit is required for both indoor and outdoor sessions.  Could parents/guardians please ensure children have a full P.E Kit in school and that it still fits!   Earrings MUST be removed or covered with plasters.

Thank you for your continued support.

Mrs Gault, Mrs A Cuthbert and the Year 4 team.
